A1. To ensure the information you report is confidential, we have designed the web site so the information cannot be saved on your computer.

A2. To ensure the information you report is confidential, we have designed the web site so the information cannot be saved on your computer. This, in turn, does not allow you to print the entire report.


Q3. Who assesses the information I have submitted?

A3. Trained, degreed professionals at Central Intake assess the information you submit via the Internet. They are the same intake workers you are accustomed to speaking with on the phone.


Q4. How do I spell check the information entered in the “What Happened?” section?

A4. Copy and paste or type the “What happened?” information into a word-processing program and perform the spell check. Copy and paste the information back into the “What happened?” section after you have performed the spell check.


Q5. What is the difference between a confirmation number and a report identification number?

A5. The confirmation number is a system-generated number that acknowledges the initial receipt of submitted information via the Internet. The report identification number from Central Intake is the number associated with the entry of your information on MDCPS systems after it has been reviewed and assessed by an intake worker. We recommend you save both numbers.


Q6. How secure is this website?

A6. The website’s security is sufficient to permit HIPAA-covered entities to file reports of child abuse or neglect, as mandated by state law. The session between the reporter and the server is encrypted, using SSL, Secure Socket Layer technology. The transmission is secure. The data flow is one way, from the reporter to the server. The reporter, cannot access any data submitted, including his/her own.
